All soaps made at Red Soap Company are handmade from the finest skin-loving natural ingredients. They are produced in small batches using a variety of oils and botanicals which are carefully chosen for their beneficial properties. Our soaps are made from scratch using the cold process method, then hand cut and packaged carefully. This turns out a sudsy, healthy and fragrant treat at bath time to spoil yourself. Once you bathe with our soap, you will never want to use a commercial soap again!
Why try handcrafted soaps?
It’s all about the ingredients! True handmade soap is made from a combination of soft/hard oils and lye. Once the oils and lye are mixed, a chemical transformation takes place which changes the caustic nature of lye into a substance that has no ill effects-a process called saponification. When saponification takes place, glycerin is created. Soap making factories often remove the natural glycerin from their soaps so that it can be sold separately. This leaves the skin feeling dry and tight because it strips away all of the skin’s oils without leaving anything behind to protect the skin.
Olive Oil: This oil turns out an extremely moisturizing, mild bar of soap. It attracts external moisture to the skin and forms a breathable film to prevent internal moisture loss.
Rice Bran Oil: Expressed from the husks of rice, rice bran oil also gives a creamy, moisturizing quality to our soaps. It has many of the same antioxidants and vitamins that olive oil has.
Coconut Oil: Gives our soap an awesome, bubbly lather. It also hardens up the bar to make it last longer.
Soybean Oil: In combination with olive and coconut oils, it makes a good, stable, bubbly and moisturizing bar of soap.
